Avoid surprises: Have a building inspection carried out

Buying a house is a monumental decision that extends beyond finding a perfect location; it's about ensuring your future home is structurally sound and free of hidden issues. With expert building inspections, you can secure peace of mind, leverage negotiations, and potentially save thousands by identifying defects and asbestos risks before finalizing your purchase.

Avoid surprises: Have a building inspection carried out

Buying a house comes with a lot to take care of, whether it's an old, existing, or newly built home. You'll need to request a valuation, arrange financing, and, of course, have a building inspection carried out . It's best to arrange a building inspection before you buy to ensure you're buying a house in good condition. You can do this with us. After the inspection, you'll receive a comprehensive report detailing any defects found and the repair costs. Need an emergency inspection? We can help with that too. We have inspectors throughout the country, from Flevoland to Drenthe and from Gelderland to Friesland.

What is involved when you buy a house?

There's a lot to consider, but you buy a house for a reason. A change of job, a new relationship, or finally finding your dream home? Either way, it's not just a house; it's your "home." We understand that. You want to be sure you're not buying a "dilapidated building," but a house without any major defects. A building inspection will clarify the condition of the house. You can also use the results of our inspection in price negotiations and include them as a condition precedent in the preliminary purchase agreement. If the house has serious defects, you can cancel the purchase.

If you're planning to buy an older house, it might contain not only defects but also asbestos-containing materials. This is certainly the case with houses built before 1994.

Building inspection!

When buying an old house, in addition to a building inspection, an energy label is definitely recommended. Whether asbestos needs to be removed depends on how it's bonded to the material. Bonded asbestos is sometimes better left in place. If you do want it removed, it's best to have it removed by a certified company. Removing asbestos without complying with regulations is dangerous and you risk receiving a hefty fine.

We hope the above information has given you some answers to the question: buying a house and what's involved? It's a fact that a building inspection gives you an objective picture of the house's structural condition.
