Homekeur launches academy to train building inspectors

In early 2025, Homekeur, the market leader in building inspections, launched its own Homekeur Academy. This new, practical training program offers participants the knowledge and skills to become a certified building inspector in just five days. Demand for skilled building inspectors is high. Everyone who buys a house wants certainty about its structural condition. As a building inspector, you're the one who discovers defects, advises on repairs, and prepares clear reports.

Practical training

The Homekeur Academy training program is designed to meet the growing demand for well-trained building inspectors in the real estate sector. The Homekeur Academy offers an intensive five-day course that prepares you for this profession. You'll learn all about the various components of a home, from foundations to roof construction. You'll gain insight into structural elements and learn to quickly and expertly identify defects such as cracking, moisture problems, and wood rot.

Installation technology is also covered extensively, including electrical, gas, water, and ventilation systems. Furthermore, specialized topics are covered, such as identifying asbestos and wood-destroying pests like fungi, woodworm, and longhorn beetles. For this, we collaborate with certified experts from Inspectus and Vuijk Advies. You'll also learn how to create professional reports and become familiar with state-of-the-art inspection software.

Learning by doing

At the Homekeur Academy, we believe the best way to learn is by doing. That's why you'll start working with the course materials right away. You'll process inspection data in the software, practice identifying defects from photos, and learn how to write clear reports. After completing the course, you'll have up to four opportunities to shadow an experienced inspector in your region. This offers a unique opportunity to learn the tricks of the trade in practice. You'll also gain access to an exclusive group app where you can stay in touch with instructors and fellow students, ask questions, and share experiences.

Distinguishing in the real estate sector

This training is ideal for anyone who wants to expand their knowledge of building inspections or better support their clients in buying or selling a home. In our pilot programs, we've already trained several real estate agents, appraisers, and enthusiastic business owners to become inspectors. With the Homekeur Academy, we aim not only to improve the quality of building inspections but also to help real estate professionals elevate their service to a higher level.
