HR++ glass for a better energy label
Several steps can be taken to make a home more sustainable. Making a home more energy-efficient improves its energy rating . One way to make a home more energy-efficient, and thus obtain a better energy rating, is to replace standard single or double glazing with HR++ glass. A more energy-efficient home offers greater living comfort, is more valuable, and sells faster. Naturally, this also results in significant savings on your energy bill. If you would like to apply for a new/definitive energy rating after making your home more sustainable, you can do so through Homekeur.
Why choose HR++ glass?
HR++ glass is a type of glass with a cavity. The cavity of this glass is filled with argon gas, which optimally keeps out the cold. Regular insulating glass always allows some so-called "radiant cold" to pass through, allowing cold from outside to enter. The argon gas in the cavity of HR++ glass prevents this radiant cold, effectively keeping all the cold out. Furthermore, there is no heat loss along the edges of the glass, keeping all the heat inside the home. Ultimately, the glass surface of HR++ glass doesn't get as cold as the glass surface of regular insulating glass. This makes HR++ glass the best choice if you want to replace your windows with high-performance glass.
More benefits of HR++ glass
When you place your hand on the window, it naturally always feels cold. However, there is a difference between cold and cold. Regular insulating glass feels much colder than HR++ glass, mainly because there is no cold radiation. Therefore, you'll need to heat considerably less if you have HR++ glass installed in your home. Furthermore, condensation can form on the inside of regular insulating glass, especially along the edges. This moisture is obviously undesirable in a home. This is also effectively prevented. The risk of condensation on the inside of HR++ glass is minimal.
Costs and savings with HR++ glass
It's possible to replace just the windows if your home's window frames are still in good condition. If you only replace the windows, the cost for an average single-family home will be between €3,500 and €4,000. This amount is further reduced by the subsidy you're entitled to. Depending on your specific energy rate, you can save up to €200 per year by replacing the windows with HR++ glass. Furthermore, making your home more energy-efficient also results in a more positive energy rating, which increases its value.
