Holiday home with energy label: what we pay attention to!
Homekeur isn't just your experienced partner for building inspections. We also help you apply for an energy label for a holiday home. The energy label is requested by the seller or renter.
Importance of an energy label for holiday homes
Energy prices have, of course, risen dramatically recently. Everyone has been affected by this. This has made people attach even more importance to energy labels. Homes with a relatively poor energy label sell significantly less quickly than homes with a positive energy label. This is no different for buying a holiday home. You simply want a good indication of the energy efficiency of the holiday home you're considering. As a seller of a holiday home, you may want to consider making the property more sustainable first. In all cases, it's advisable to have an energy label for your holiday home. This is currently optional, but it will soon be mandatory.
Energy label obligation for holiday homes
Starting January 1, 2024, it will also be mandatory for holiday home owners to provide them with an energy label. This means the energy label must be registered in 2023, so that the holiday home will have a registered energy label by January 1, 2024. As a holiday home owner, you can, of course, take the necessary measures to make it more sustainable. For example, you can insulate it, replace the glazing with HR++ glass, or install solar panels. Every measure you take to make your holiday home more sustainable contributes to obtaining a more positive energy label.
What do we pay attention to when awarding an energy label?
Homekeur works exclusively with experienced, certified consultants to assign energy labels to both residential and holiday homes. During the inspection, we consider all important factors relevant to the holiday home's energy efficiency. We primarily consider the size of the holiday home, the type of holiday home, and the year it was built. We also check the energy efficiency of the systems and the level of insulation. Naturally, we also inspect additional energy-efficient systems, such as solar panels. The more energy-efficient the holiday home, the better its energy label.
