7 tips for a good sales text for your home
Are you planning to put your house up for sale soon? Then it's crucial to write a compelling sales pitch. Especially if your property is located in a region where sales aren't booming, a compelling piece of writing is crucial. A building inspection can sway buyers if it reveals your house has no deferred maintenance.
1. Provide a catchy introduction
The introduction is important. The first few lines should be so compelling that someone wants to read on. So think carefully about this.
2. To which target group do you want to sell your home?
It makes a difference whether you're selling your home to a young family, a commuter, or a couple looking for comfortable senior housing. The tone of voice varies depending on the target audience, as do the features you highlight.
3. Clearly state the positive aspects of your home
The benefits of your home and the surrounding area are, of course, important and should be highlighted. Mention recent renovations and improvements, as well as shops, schools, and other amenities in the area.
4. What makes your home unique?
Why should people buy your house and not the one three doors down? It could be the attractive price, but it could also be the fact that your house has a dormer window, a ground-floor extension, or a higher energy rating. Of course, you don't want to state in your text that your house is better than the one at number 8 or 10.
5. The do's when writing your sales copy
Things to keep in mind when writing a sales text for your home:
- Write short sentences
- Emphasize the positives
- Write an objective text
6. The don'ts when writing your sales copy
- Avoid long sentences with many commas
- Do not use abbreviations or difficult words
- Don't repeat yourself
7. Have your text proofread before you post it online
Experience shows that writers easily overlook their own mistakes. Whether it's a simple typo or a grammatical or stylistic error, it will cause annoyance and distract from your goal: selling your home. So have your text proofread by a real estate agent or at least someone with a good command of Dutch.
Easily request an energy label for your home
The cost of an energy label (up to 190 m²) is only €349 including VAT. A certified energy advisor will visit you, inspect the property, and officially register the energy label in EP-online.
